He is a great player for sure. Speed kills. 4.7 in the 40 is decent

During Manziel's senior season, he compiled 228-of-347 (65.7%) passing for 3,609 yards with 45 TDs and 5 INTs. He also had 170 carries for 1,674 yards and 30 TDs. He had 1 TD reception and returned a kickoff for a touchdown for a combined 77 TDs.

He was highly recruited out of high school; in addition to Texas A&M, he received offers from [10]

Just my opinion, but I didn't think he deserved the award. The kid played three good teams all year, and finished 1-2 in those games. If he doesn't beat Alabama, no chance he wins.

Right on.................... he beat `Bama and wins the hardware....... I was hoping that Mant`i would be honored...........

Agreed. His team had arguably the best defense in the country and played a difficult schedule against some very good offenses. Not to mention, seven interceptions for an inside linebacker, which is pretty rare.

The Heisman has become a serious joke. There was a day when it meant something. Now, it has become an SEC award first, and everyone else has to wait in line.

Don't get me wrong, I think Manziel had a great season for a freshman quarterback. He put up some serious numbers. But he wasn't the most valuable football player in America.

Case in point, the QB at Northern Illinois (Jordan Lynch) got his team to a BCS bowl, had the same number of TD passes and finished fourth in the country in rushing. That is a pretty amazing feat, but he got no pub whatsoever.

The linebacker at Toledo (Dan Molls) had 166 tackles and got his team to a bowl game. That is a crazy number.

The kicker at Tulane (Cairo Santos) was 21-for-21 on field goals. That doesn't happen every day.
