Just wondering how does the JUCO system work, how do you get a kid noticed by a school for a scolarship. I am all new to this and this was mentioned for my son. I was just wondering what I need to do to get his name out there and noticed. He has the size and speed to play at the next level but his grades arent what they should be. He is 6'2" 280 and has ran a 4.9 Thanks.

It really depends on what system they are going into. If they are headed to California, the California system does not have any scholarships. They have a lower cost for schooling provided the kid has established residency. Depending on the state, they have a certain amount of scholarships for out-of-state kids. You need to check with the schools and programs individually.

Brad Thanks for your response. He would not be in the cali system. He is from SC, and was looking at GMC ( thats probably the closest one ) his coach has already had a meeting with us to discuss what he was going to do like send his film, stats ect. to some JUCOs. We were just wondering what we could do as parents to help in this process.
