RCC #1 in Cali

Before I read a story that Craft was considering Tyler Shreve again at QB I would have said that is a good pick too but not so sure now. Cause if they cant find anyone better than Shreve they are in trouble. Lot of time till kick off though.

Craft team ranked #1? Are you kidding me? What took him so long? As you might know, Craft doesn't sit well with me because of the way he left Mt SAC and what he let's go on behind the scenes at RCC by not following through with the promises they make to players and giving other players to preferential treatment. But, my feelings about Two Face Tommy aside. Since I have known him, which dates back to 1997, he has an uncanny way of doing two things. Getting his teams over-ranked and losing big in big games. Take last year for example. His Tigers need merely to make a decent showing at Mt SAC and they could have been a wild-card playoff team. Instead they get blanked. The so-call guru of the Mountie offense, Tommy Craft can't score a single digit. Even late into the night he continued to grip and go for it. Rather than capitulate and give Mt SAC their win...didn't matter. Call it the Craft curse. 25-0 and it could have gotten worse if Mt SAC kicking game didn't go flat. And over-ranked. I watched his #1 Nationally ranked 1997 Palomar team get throttled by Mt SAC in the Pound and look as recently as 2011. Those Tigers played two maybe you could say four games. Saddleback, Mt SAC, Harbor and someone else. And they were ranked #1 in So Cal...really? That's like ranking Ontario Christian #1 in the state because they go 14-0 against all the other small private schools in the Inland Empire. So, let them get their #1 ranking. Word on the street is their team is loaded with talent and that is good for the sport. I like having RCC around, competition breeds success. But when the Tigers 2013 season come to a crushing defeat, don't say I didn't tell you so.

Sporting News ranked Mt SAC 5th in the nation and RCC got honorable mention at 14th....does that make the Mounties better
question.r191677.gif
No, poles are for fun and are usually established by the program not that year's particular team.

Only time will tell because there will be some stiff competition along the way. However this could be the year that RCC busts loose. There's no doubt that RCC is loaded and Coach Craft has always been a winner.

I agree PIOU2, this is Craft's fourth year at the helm and we all thought it would be 4 to 5 years before he's make the playoffs. His 2011 team with Livingston QBing was an exceptional team that deserved playoff contention. But, as we all know, RCC's past ten seasons and what I believe Craft's apprehension of playing larger teams week in and week out kept them out of the playoffs. This will be RCC's year to break through and the get both Mt SAC and Ventura at home. But, they go on the road to play Fullerton. Should be fun to see how far Tom can go with the players he has sniped from the area.

In order to be successful, RCC needs to have the refs on its side like MOUNT SAC does. Every year up until last season, MS was able to walk away from those close playoff games by winning due to a controversial call in their favor. I'm glad BC was able to play smash mouth football against them and ran the score; Otherwise if this had been another close game, MS would've been victorious. We all remember the "helmet to Helmet" hit that only the refs saw when they played saddleback in the playoffs. Even, the owner of this site thinks that it was a shotty call...

People who write in large print are compensating for a lack in other areas. Blaming the refs for Mt SAC's success is really lame. We all get upset with the officials calls and Mt SAC gets more than their fair share of bad calls.

And all though the helmet to helmet against Mt SAC's real rival last year eventually cost them the game. People like yourself El Tiger, who hate on Mt SAC because they are like 85-5 in the last 7 years, will have to realize that it took 7 more plays for Mt SAC to score in horrible weather conditions.

Going after the refs, is like blaming home-cooking. Your team is like 20-0 at home. How much in-town officiating are the Tigers enjoying?

As bad a call as the helmet to helmet play was last year.

Here is the link to it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=QC9d2Na4BQ4

Everyone in college football can expect more of the same. Targeting is now on ANY defenseless player.

Boy, if you think officiating was a tough job before, wait till 2013 is over.

No matter how many times I play it, I see the SB player leaning with his shoulder pads for the hit...

BTW: It's EL TIGRE!

What is the top 10 ???? Craft has some studs again this year but QB will be a key issue for him......... tough game 1 and a tough game 10.... Can Craft/RCC win those 2 games ??? Could be 2 teams from their conference in the playoffs... Looks like BC will be sitting this year at home...

Big question as far as RCC`s game 1........ will Ventura be the caliber of team they produced in their 1st 10 games or the team they were in game 11 ????

As stated by another poster......... looked like a clean hit on the football field to me !!!

I think we all agree it is a call that shouldn't have been made. But, how many times on a Saturday can you say that? If SB points at the one play, they would be discounting the 97 others made that day. Excuse me, night.

Ha ha.......... can`t point to 1 play..... still have to play 4 Qs but a call at the right time in a critical time in the game CAN change the outcome of that game !!!!

A call at the right time and place, as if it is a set up? This is football Nor CAL not your soap opera. You want drama, stick with "GLEE"

You guys don't like that call, you're going to hate this 2013 season of "targeting."......maybe I'll also start watching GLEE instead

"Even the owner of this site thinks that it was a shotty call..."?

Lol.... What does that mean? Every owner of football related sites are always RIGHT because they own a site? WTF?

C'mon tigre.... You can't be that naive. No matter how you think of the Mountain Men of Walnut and how we might get every favored call....

IT DIDN'T HELP YOUR RCC TEAM LAST YEAR WHEN WE BEAT YOU 25 TO 0 RIGHT?

Sorry but I'm not trying to be rude but you asked for that. Prove it on the field and WIN and your team will accepted within the ELITE teams like BC did last year and has done before. Stop all the whining and just WIN and all the support you fans have done for your team within these last few years will be validated lol.

Hey Kid,

You're already a legend over there, keep up the good work. You need any ammunition for those weasels to the east, let me know. They stacked plenty of problems in their corner. I'd start with their hot tempered QB Tyler Shrieve...tons of talent, lacks discipline. Tom Craft sat him out of the Mountie game last year. It would have never helped anyway. Shrieve runs, no one runs against Mt SAC except BC

DAWGS can't let that happen again. Tom turns this kid into a QB, I will be the first to congratulate him....but, if not...Tom is in for another year of missing the playoffs.

Keep those guys guessing Kido.

Your Father,

Mountieman

Tigers look scary this year!! I think they'll be playing at 90% of their capabilities by game 3!! They are deep in every position!!

From what I heard, Saddleback had as many as five starters missing on Saturday due to injury.

RCC......... ran the ball 60 times vs. Ventura amassing 505 yards on the ground... hanging 59 points on the Pirates. Impressive ground game for a pass happy Tom Craft team........... Could be the year of the Tiger !!!

I hope they show up when they play RCC, so I don't hear Brad saying they lost because of those guys missing. He said the same 2 years ago, when they lost to RCC. Howie Long's son didn't play and 1 other player... HAHAHA!!

Who is my top rated team in California right now?

500 yards rushing in one game? That must be a Tom Craft record. RCC does have plenty of players, they took most of them from Mt SAC
eek.r191677.gif
but is the chemistry going to come together? I think we will have the answer in a few weeks.

Poor Tyler Shrieve, it appears again this year baseball will have to be his sport. Craft put a lot of energy into a kid that is not going to move on at QB....again this season.
