"Out at Riverside City College, a potential battle for the starting spot in the potent Tiger offense sees returning back-up Zach Adkins in a battle with another quarterback that will fit into the pro-style mode. Adkins is 6-foot-1, 205 pounds and played in bits and pieces of five games last season for an undefeated Riverside team. Adkins threw for 223 yards and three scores on 11 passes and ran for 70 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. Quarterback guru and head coach Tom Craft will decide later in the summer whether or not Adkins has a leg up on Utah bounce back Tyler Shreve[/B], who will be featured in the pro-style lineup".

It appears that Adkins has earned the starting spot at RCC after great performances in the 1st 4 games.

Here are Zach's highlights thus far:

He looked like the far superior player in the game I saw.

This kid tore it up today, in one half!!! 6 td passes and over 350 yards!! [/B]

They didn`t exactly play a powerhouse......................... scored 70 in the game against a hapless team. Showdown will be last game of the season..........

Compare Ventura's numbers VS RCC with the same team. RCC is the better team.

28-27 was just pure luck when RCC gave you 14 of those points...

Your post is not a slap at Ventura is it ??? I have no team in the battle..... just pointed out the facts !!!!

The main point you keep passing over Mr. Tiger is the most important position on the field is the QB anf last time I checked, you guys have a very talented QB that your coach refused to play until the hothed got ejected.

Soon as Adkins came in , the Tigers kicked but. That loss and fiasco of a game for the Tigers was on the coach??

Also remember the goal line stance the Pirates made , late 4th quarter? Yep someone on the Tiger sidelines called 3 straight running plays right up the middle.

PREVENT DEFENSE: Last drive, RCC goes away from their pressure defense, and the Pirates march down the field uncontested to win the game.

Those IMHO were the deciding plays. Looks like the "freshmen" had nothing to do with those plays? hahaha........I am looking forward to seeing the Tigers play soon. They are a bad ass team.....

Uh oh, here we go again. I seriously doubt he is 6' 1" and at about 185 lbs max, he is obviously a great jc player.

This sounds like a rerun from last year.....LOL

Yeah, sounds like the Mount Sac goone squad are going to start hating another RCC QB. Let's just get this out of the way; I'm not his dad, but if you wanna start crap, You'll find me....

To be honest; the kid is not obsessed with all this D1 talk like you guys talked about last year. He was supposed to be the back up this year and he's turning heads with his numbers and very accurate arm.. He's grateful and humbled for what he's getting. So, no matter how much you want to hate. It just doesn't matter....

19 TDS and 1 Int!!

I don't think anybody is hatin. He's doing a great job and look forward to seeing him in action in some big upcoming games this year.

You just asked "where are the offers" and we gave an explaination. Not many 6'1 pro style QB's get D1 offers. No hatin.

He is a very good JC QB. Not hatin at all. Shreeve is a really big strong qb, and when Adkins comes in he is a small guy. Not hating, just stating the obvious.

Seems like a great kid and his numbers are off the chart. If he starts against ventura, RCC is unbeaten. The only mystery here is why did Craft not start him as he has been there for 3 years now, right? His own coaching staff didn't have confidence in him but he is clearly the better qb......if he continues, and given your weak schedule, and your power house offense, he is going to put up some crazy numbers . I say good for him!!

19 TDs and 1 Int................ he already has put up great numbers !!!!! Great for him...... keep playing and balling and the offers will come................. its hard for a QB to get D1 offers coming out of a JC unless he has 4 years to play 3 !!!!!

He had another huge game for Zach against El Camino. 371 passing yards AND 5 TDS!!!

Who said that RCC could only put those numbers in a lower division? [/B]

LA Trade Tech? Didn't realize they had a football team.......

Hopefully his daddy doesn't pull him outta school before he can graduate and get a formal offer..........

Over coercive parents can really kill the fun for the student athlete…..

really? make sure you don't mess up your lil girl's chances to play soccer in a big school!!

That is Louisiana Tech

wow you got defensive. I was only stating the obvious?..........good for Zach, as the second option on the team at QB he has had a great season.

Good for him. I am sure he will be playing a couple more years somewhere. Let us know where he ends up.
