Thought it was a typo - Elco listed in the CCCAA at the top of the National Central with 7-2 and FCC listed in the cellar at 0-9 instead of 9-0. But no - all Fullerton games are listed as forfeit. I can only guess - but does anybody know what happened?

The Southern California Football Association has recommended that Fullerton College football forfeit seven of its 2017 wins and its 2017 National Southern League championship for breaking California Community College Athletic Association rules regarding subsidizing, inducements and special privileges.

Fullerton College director of campus communications Lisa McPheron said the school is appealing two of six sanctions recommended by the SCFA: its forfeiture of last year’s games and the league championship.

The Southern California Football Association, the administrative body of a group of 37 community college football programs in Southern California, announced the action against Fullerton College which also is barred from postseason play this season.

The SCFA found that Fullerton was in violation of CCCAA constitution Bylaw 2.11 that covers and bans “subsidizing, inducements, and special privileges” for a CCCAA student-athlete. “Special privileges” are defined as services not available to other students.

Fullerton has won back-to-back state and national championships the past two seasons. The status of those championships has not been announced.

The Hornets also forfeited this season’s games in which ineligible players participated. How many games, and which games, have not been revealed. The community college’s athletic director and sports information director did not immediately respond to requests for that information.

Fullerton is No. 1 in the CCCAA state football rankings with a 5-0 record. It has won 24 consecutive games.

Fullerton College president Greg Schulz stated in an email that the school self-reported two violations to the CCCAA.

Fullerton coach Tim Byrnes has been on paid administrative leave since the school began investigating potential violations last month. Byrnes was in his 11th season as Hornets coach. Offensive coordinator Garrett Campbell has served as interim head coach since Byrnes was placed on leave.
