Never predicted UNC-ND in the finals. For me it was either Duke-Virginia or UNC-Duke. Didn't watch the game so I'll just leave all the officiating comments alone

I didn't predict UVA to lose to UNC but I did predict Notre Dame to beat Duke. However, I predicted UNC to beat Duke also so I wasn't perfect. Duke fan said I must be high. Here is post copied and pasted below, notice date.


So you think someone must be high if Duke gets beat by UNC and then loses to Notre Dame in the ACC tourney and Notre Dame wins the ACC tourney. I stated I thought it very unlikely but that is the scenario that allows a team to steal a bid. ND and Duke would have exact same amount of losses with ND owning a 2-1 record head to head and having title ACC tourney champs. UVA is the reg season champs. Duke wouldn't have an argument to be seeded higher than Notre Dame, now personally, I still believe Duke would have a legit argument over Kansas as a #2 even if KU wins out but the B12 love is strong so I do not see that happening. IMO, it isn't that unlikely Duke loses twice before the NCAAT, it is extremely unlikely Notre Dame runs the table.

Well, that was scary. Duke looked young and disinterested for a good portion. Good win by Notre Dame, Brey had a great plan and they won with it.

Not sure I've ever seen two halves as different as Justise's last night.

No kidding. That might have been the worst officiating, especially late, that I have ever seen in a big game. How long is it going to be before an ACC coach just starts dog cussing the refs and bitching to the media about the refs and the obvious calls that Duke gets, particularly at key times.

In other words, how long until a coach does with K and Duke what K did with DES and Carolina many years back. The only one I can see really standing up would be Tony Bennett. It's not like Roy, Jim B, and Pitino are going to do that at this point in their careers and Brey won't do it out of respect for his old boss. None of the other guys have enough cred to pull it off, other than Tony Bennett- wonder if he will have the cajones to speak up?

Serious question for the Duke contingent- does this game worry you heading into the tournament? It seems to be the same story with Duke as in recent past- if your guys aren't making 3s, then they can lose to anyone. Or do you see it differently?

That's completely not true this season(I mean, it's always going to be a threat for 99% of team that they could lose when they can't score, but Duke's 3rd in the Country in 2FG%, and they get 52.5% of their points from 2's, compared to 44% last season and 45% in 2012). For context, Duke's 6-1 when making 5 threes of less this season, and they rank 182nd in Points from 3FG's. I don't know how one could watch the game last night and conclude that Duke lost because they didn't hit threes, they lost because they dug themselves in a 20 point hole due to lack of effort on both sides of the ball.

Gotcha. I only watched the 2nd half, starting at the 12 min mark and that was my observation from that point forward.

Yep. Same philosophy you would take against Oklahoma when they had Blake Griffin. You aren't going to stop him just don't allow him to get the other guys going because of too much defensive attention.

K had them sky high for revenge against us, then against ND they didn't look nearly as energetic, coach K either. Rare to see Duke struggle so much shooting 3's, etc. Against us they could be blind folded and it went in.

A lot of games yet to be played. I think both Mt. SAC and RCC get into the playoffs. The other two divisions are completely up for grabs, IMO. I could see Cerritos beating Ventura this weekend. The south is anybody's division. Even Saddleback still has a chance.

Yes you may beat MTSAC but you guys are the only team left on our schedule that may do that BUT that leaves us with one loss and BUT if we beat you guys then that's really gona mess up your chances into playoffs so it looks like its more of a MUST WIN for RCC than for is!!! Good luck buddy HaHa! Because it looks like you're gona need it especially if Cerritos wins this weekend which bumps a BAKO over you guys when we beat you on the 10th ooooohhhh..... haHa LoL!
